Now students’ English handwriting gets worse and worse. That makes their teachers feel worried. Is your English handwriting beautiful? If not, here are four steps that really work!
Use paper with lines
Using paper with lines can keep you writing straight instead of up or down when you write English words or sentences. Those lines on the paper can help you to write words in the right size. Be sure to fill the lined space completely. And remember that those capital letters are written properly.
Slow down
If your writing is hard to read, try slowing down a little. For some kids, going slower makes the handwriting clear. If you write too fast, it’s hard for you to stop where you should, and even worse, you may make more mistakes.
Hold your pencil correctly
When you hold your pencil correctly, writing is much easier. Some kids press down really hard when they write. That makes the handwriting not nice. Try to be relaxed and don’t hold the pencil so hard. Let your writing appear nice and clean. If you do so, people will guess you are a student with a good habit.
Draw more pictures
Drawing can improve your handwriting. You need to use the skills to control your pencil better when you are drawing pictures. Even though you have no chance to draw at school, you can practice by yourself at home.
Handwriting is very important. Imagine you are a world-famous movie star or a well-known sports player, what do you do when your fans run up to you? Give them your autographs, of course! ![]()

Maybe you will feel surprised when you are told that hot drink you're drinking could actually make you colder.
And that's not the only thing making it hard to stay warm when the temperature continues to drop around you. You're going to need all the advice you can get to stay warm this winter.
Below are 5 things that'll help you avoid having to do this all winter.
1. Loneliness can lower your body temperature.
The lack of social contact can lead to physical consequences. In other words, giving someone the "cold shoulder" can actually make them feel colder.
2. Hot drinks might actually cool you off.
When having a hot drink, your tongue nerves “tells” the rest of your body that something "hot" is coming and you need to start sweating. This will not help you become warm. On the opposite, consuming too much of a cold drink can actually warm you up because it causes your blood vessels to tighten.
3. You don't catch a cold because of cold weather.
Exposure to lower temperatures doesn't give you a cold by itself. Instead, the rise in sickness and colds in the winter months is mainly because people spending more time indoors, which allows germs to spread between people more easily.
4. Wearing white might actually be the warmest color.
Usually we wear white in summer and darker clothes in winter because black clothes get more heat from the sun and white clothing reflects it, but this common idea might be wrong. Some researchers say that white's function as a reflector also applies to(適用于) body heat, that is to say, wearing white may trap your natural heat close to your body. Dark clothes may be less likely to trap your body heat in.
5. The cold weather can help you lose weight.
In cold temperatures the body works harder to warm itself up, not only burning more calories but also activating(激活) brown fat, which burns them more efficiently than white fat. So, some people believe that punishing themselves with icy-cold temperatures can help them lose more weight.

Grammar is the way a language works. People sometimes describe grammar as the “rules” of a language; but in fact no natural languages have rules. If we use the word “rules”, we believe that some people have made the rules first and now people speak the language, like a new game. But languages did not start like that. Languages were started by people making sounds which gradually(漸漸地) changed into words, phrases, and sentences. No commonly-spoken language is fixed. All languages change over time. What we call grammar is simply a description(描述) of a language at a particular time.
Do we need to study grammar to learn a language? The answer is “No”. Many people in the world speak their mother language without having studied its grammar. Children start to speak before they even know the word “grammar”. But if you are serious about learning a foreign language, the long answer is “Yes, grammar can help you to learn a language more quickly.” It’s important to think of grammar as something that can help you, like a friend. When you understand the grammar of a language, you can understand many things yourself, without having to ask a teacher or look in a book.
So think of grammar as something good, something helpful, something that you can use to find your way like a signpost(路標) or a map.

2. In the first paragraph, we can see that ________.
A. grammar should be changed at a particular time
B. grammar must be simple to describe a language
C. languages were formed by people now and then
D. language is changing, and its grammar is changing too
3.The writer thinks that grammar helps when ________.
A. we learn a foreign language
B. we ask someone to make rules
C. we speak our native language
D. we look up something in a book
