The internet was set up in the 20th century. At that time computers were big and expensive. Later, the
computer becomes small and cheap. Thanks to (多虧) the internet, the world becomes smaller and smaller.

him well. You never probably (可能) meet them, you have no way of knowing the real world around them.
So you mustn't meet or go out with them.
QQ is a good way to chat and make friends. Now some young people don't often talk with their parents

Every day, life is made and lost. Every day, life goes on. Every day we experience some of the most important parts of life and may not even realize it: love, generosity, and perseverance. These values aren’t just important to us, they make the world what it is.

Scientists say that the gravity makes the world turn, but some people say that love makes  it  go around. Love can be found anywhere: in families, friends, even strangers. Even if you can’t see it, you know it’s there.

Love may connect people all over the world, but what would the world be without generosity? Whether after a national disaster or a school fund raiser, one thing is certain--- it is better to give than to receive. Generosity is found everywhere and whether it’s a large or small act, it makes a difference. Most of all, generosity is not something you need any qualifications(資格)for, and no matter what you do, it can make a difference. Sometimes, though, it takes effort to be generous, which leads us to perseverance.

Founding a country, riding a bike, or finishing a novel, these are all finished with perseverance. Perseverance is the one thing that can help us achieve whatever we want. It is what helps scientists discover cures for illnesses, and athletes become winners. You may fail, but every time you make a mistake, that’s one less to make the next time.

There is an infinite(無限的) number of things we value. But without love, generosity, and perseverance, we just don’t think that our lives or the world would be the way it is.

1.The underlined word “it” in the second paragraph means         .

A.the world         B.the gravity         C.the value          D.the experience

2.To be generous, the writer thinks       .

A.you needn’t make effort

B.you should be qualified(有資格的)

C.you should give all you have

D.you find it meaningful whatever you do

3.The meaning of the word “perseverance” is       .

A.財富             B.體力             C.毅力             D.機遇

4.Which of the following statement is TRUE?

A.Perseverance is the only thing to help us achieve success.

B.People don’t understand life they experience at all.

C.Helping others is always better than receiving help.

D.What the world is like depends on the gravity and love.

5.The best title for the passage may be       .

A.Success and failure  B.Three values       C.Endless love       D.Hard life

Most people around the world are right-handed. This also seems to be true in history. In 1799, scientists studied works(作品) of art made at different times from 1, 500 B. C. to the 1950s. Most of the people shown in these works are right-handed, so the scientists guessed that right-handedness has always been common through history. Today, only about 10% to 15% of the world's population is left-handed.
Why are there more right-handed people than left-handed ones? Scientists now know that a person's two hands each have their own jobs. For most people, the left hand is used to find things or hold things. The right hand is used to work with things. This is because of the different work of the two sides of the brain (大腦). The right side of the brain, which makes a person's hands and eyes work together, controls(控制) the left hand. The left-side of the brain, which controls the right hand, is the centre for thinking and doing problems. These findings show that more artists should be left-handed, and studies have found that left-handedness is twice as common among artists than among people in other jobs.
No one really knows what makes a person become right-handed instead of left-handed. Scientists have found that almost 40% of the people become left-handed because their main brain is damaged(損害) when they are born. However, this doesn't happen to everyone, so scientists guess there must be another reason (原因) why people become left-handed. One idea is that people usually get right-handed from their parents. If a person does not receive the gene (基因) for right-handedness, he/she may become either right-or left-handed according to the chance (偶然性) and the people they work or live with.
Though right-handedness is more common than left-handedness, people no longer think left-handed people are strange or unusual. A long time ago, left-handed children were made to use their right hands like other children, but today they don't have to.

科目:czyy 來源:英語教研室 題型:050

Most people around the world are right-handed. This also seems to be true in history. In 1799, scientists studied works (作品) of art made at different times from 1,500 B. C. to the 1950s. Most of the people shown in these works are right-handed, so the scientists guessed that right-handedness has always been common through history. Today, only about 10% to 15% of the world’s population is left-handed.

Why are there more right-handed people than left-handed ones? Scientists now know that a person’s two hands each have their own jobs. For most people, the left hand is used to find things or hold things. The right hand is used to work with things. This is because of the different work of the two sides of the brain (大腦). The right side of the brain, which makes a person’s hands and eyes work together, controls (控制) the left hand. The left-side of the brain, which controls the right hand, is the center for thinking and doing problems. These findings show that more artists should be left-handed, and studies have found that left-handed-ness is twice as common among artists as among people in other jobs.

No one really knows what makes a person become right-handed instead of left-handed. Scientists have found that almost 40% of the people become left-handed because their main brain is damaged (損害) when they are born. However, this doesn’t happen to everyone so scientists guess there must be another reason (原因) why people become left-handed.

A long time ago, left-handed children were made to use their right hands like other children, but today they don’t have to.

1. After studying works of art made at different times in history, the scientists found ________.

    A. the art began from 1,500 B. C.

    C. About 40%                   D. The passage doesn’t tell us.

3. What is the left hand for most people used to do?

    A. It’s used to find or hold things.

    B. It’s used to work with things.

    C. It’s used to make a person’s eyes work together.

    D. It’s the center for thinking and doing problems.
