I can't eat答案解析

科目:gzyy 來(lái)源:09-10學(xué)年福建省廈門六中高一下學(xué)期3月月考(英語(yǔ)) 題型:閱讀理解

Foods from Around the World
Foods that are well known to you may not be familiar to people from other countries. Here are four people’s experiences with foreign food.
Shao Wong is a student in France. He comes from China. “I’d never tasted cheese or even milk before I came here. Cattle are rare in my part of China, so there are no dairy products. I tried milk when I first arrived in France. I hated it! I sampled cheese too, but couldn’t manage more than one bite. I love ice cream, though, and that’s made from milk.”
Birgit is from Sweden. She traveled to Australia on vacation. “I was in a restaurant that specialized in fish, and I heard some other customers order flake. So I ordered some too and it was delicious. Later, I found out that flake is an Australian term for shark. After that pleasant experience, whenever I see a new food I try it out on purpose. You know why? I remember how much I enjoyed flake.”
Chandra is a dentist in Texas. She originates from India. “I’m frightened of eating new foods because they might be made from beef. I’m a Hindu, and my religion forbids me to eat meat from the cow. It’s a sacred animal to Hindus, so that’s the reason I can’t eat hamburgers or spaghetti with meatballs.”
Nathan is American. He taught for a year in China. “My friends gave me some 100-year-old eggs to eat. I didn’t like the look of them at all. The insides were green, but my friends said the color was normal. The Chinese put chemicals on fresh eggs. Then they bury them in the earth for three months. So the eggs weren’t really very old. Even so, I absolutely refused to touch them.”
Life in a new country can be scary, but it also can be fun. Would you sample a 100-year-old egg? Would you order shark in a restaurant?
56. Which of the following sentences is true about Shao Wong?
A. He is a French – Chinese.
B. Cattle are seldom raised in his hometown.
C. He doesn’t like any diary products.
D. He didn’t taste cheese because he hated it.

A. It’s against Hindus’ religion.
B. She is a doctor and she thinks beef is not easy to chew and digest.
C. She is an Indian.
D. Hindus think beef is not tasty.
59. The underlined word “Sacred” in paragraph 4 means _________.
A. frightening  B. large    C. man – eating        D.greatly respected

Mom noticed that something was wrong when I started getting so thirsty. I’d have a lot to drink before bed, which was unusual for me. One time, I opened a big container of apple juice and kept refilling my glass. Before I knew it, I’d drunk the entire container! My mom called my doctor. I then had a few blood tests, and the results were certain — I had diabetes (糖尿病), which meant that the amount of sugar in my blood was very high. That can be dangerous, so I had to learn how to control my blood-sugar level.

My eating habits had to change in a big way. With diabetes, I can’t eat a lot of sugar or carbohydrates (碳水化合物). I have to figure out exactly how much sugar I plan to eat, and then I get an injection of insulin (注射胰島素) before the meal to help my body process the food. Also, I test my blood-sugar level often. I’m always trying to keep my blood sugar at a healthy level. The level can drop when I exercise, but that doesn’t keep me out of gym class or off the basketball court — I just keep some juice boxes around to boost my blood sugar if I need to.

It’s a lot of work — and not a lot of fun — to keep track of everything, but I’ve gotten used to my new habits. I was a little scared at first because I wasn’t sure how my life would change. Once I knew what I needed to do, though, it wasn’t a big deal. My life is different now from what it was before, but it has become completely regular to me.

1.The first paragraph is mainly about _____.

    A. who found the author had diabetes

    B. the author’s life before having diabetes

    C. how the author was found to have diabetes

    D. the author’s eating habits before having diabetes

2.What did the author do after knowing she had diabetes?

    A. She stopped playing basketball in the gym.

    B. She controlled her blood-sugar level strictly.

    C. She stopped eating food with natural sugar.

    D. She tested her blood-sugar level before every meal.

3.What does the underlined word “boost” in Paragraph 2 mean?

    A. Increase.      B. Control.      C. Absorb.     D. Test.

4.What’s the author’s attitude toward her having diabetes now?

A. Worried.     B. Frightened.    C. Pessimistic.  D. Positive.

All right! Enough cookies, cola, and chips! It seems that junk food is all that the children want to eat these days.Television controls their tastes. The kids see well-known personalities eating potato chips, candy and other processed food, and they want to be like their heroes. How do they do it?They eat the same food. I wish there were more characters like old Popeye(大力水手), the sailor, who ate spinach(菠菜) and not French fries.

Now I don't expect my children to eat healthy food because I like brown rice, beans, and fresh vegetables. I'm glad to cook traditional meals of meat and potatoes for them. I really can't be too upset with the kids because most adults aren't careful about what they eat. The other night, my wife and I went to a party where there was plenty to drink but very little for us to eat. They served hot dogs and hamburgers. I can't eat hot dogs, with all those preservatives(防腐劑), and hamburgers are filled with chemicals so that they look better. Besides the meat, they had sugar-filled cookies and cake, and of course, chips. I don't want the world to change because of me, but I think people should realize that there are alternatives(選擇) to eating meat. They always tell me that I probably don't get my essential(必要的) proteins. I feel better than ever and I'm sure that it's because I'm a vegetarian(素食主義者). I would really like to see more television advertisements which show the benefits of good, healthy, natural food.

1.According to the passage, it seems that ______.

A.canned food is the only one that the kids enjoy most.

B.the children like to have fried chicken only.

C.the kids prefer to have cold drinks, not junk food

D.the children like nothing better than junk food: cookies and chips

2.which of the following is NOT true?

A.Television influences children’s food choice

B.The author is not single and he eats meats

C.Though the author is a vegetarian, he feels very healthy

D.It is certain that beans and spinach are not junk food

3.The writer is a vegetarian, so people doubt very much _____.

A.why he goes to the party                B.whether he gets enough proteins

C.whether he allows his children to eat meat    D.whether he is healthy and strong

科目:gzyy 來(lái)源:2012-2013學(xué)年陜西省三原縣北城中學(xué)高一下學(xué)期第一次月考英語(yǔ)試卷(帶解析) 題型:閱讀理解

【小題1】According to the passage, it seems that ______.

A.canned food is the only one that the kids enjoy most.
B.the children like to have fried chicken only.
C.the kids prefer to have cold drinks, not junk food
D.the children like nothing better than junk food: cookies and chips
【小題2】which of the following is NOT true?
A.Television influences children’s food choice
B.The author is not single and he eats meats
C.Though the author is a vegetarian, he feels very healthy
D.It is certain that beans and spinach are not junk food
【小題3】The writer is a vegetarian, so people doubt very much _____.
A.why he goes to the party B.whether he gets enough proteins
C.whether he allows his children to eat meatD.whether he is healthy and strong
