My little cousin is greatly interested on science. And he does some dangerous experiments sometime. Although his parents want to encourage him to be great scientist, at times they worry about his safety. Last week, when my cousin was doing an experiment, he hurts his thumb. My aunt felt sadly and wanted him to stop from doing that experiment. However, my cousin didn’t want to give up. She said, “Many scientists got hurt when they were doing experiments, so they didn’t give up.” My aunt had to let him finish the experiments and he finally succeeded in finish it.

In 1929, three years after his flight over the North Pole, the American explorer, R.E. Byrd, successful flew over the South Pole for the first time. Therefore, at first, Byrd and his men were able to take great many photographs of the mountains that laid below, they soon ran into serious troubles. At one point, it seemed sure that their plane would crash. It could only get over the mountains if it raised to 10,000 feet. Byrd at once ordered his men to throw away two heavy food sacks. The plane was then able to rise and it cleared the mountains by 400 feet. Byrd then knew that he would be able to reach the South Pole which was 300 miles away, for there was no more mountains at sight. The aircraft was able to fly over the endless white plains without difficult.

Some of my classmates often asks me why I like English so much. Well, it is really hard say. Everyone has anything that he or she likes. I just like the English for no special reason. Some students in my class didn't like English. They don't know why English is such important for Chinese student. If you don't like it, how can you learn it well? I often get high marks in English tests when they usually get low marks. I feel lucky that I'm so interested English. Now English is widely using around the world. I'm sure that learning English well will be good for my future career.

Ten years ago, I had worked as a night guard in a factory. On a rainy night, all the lights of factory went out all of a sudden. I rushed out and could see nothing. Lucky for me, the warning system was directly connected with the police station. Three or four minutes late, four police car arrived at the front gate. They searched for the factory carefully, tried to find something unusual. In the end, I am told that the rain had brought about   the short circuit, that caused the accident.

As a boy grown up in India, I had longed to traveling abroad. I used to listen to the stories my father told me about her stay in Canada and trips to Europe in 1970s. My big moment finally come in the summer of 1998 when I was able to accompany my parents to Europe, where my father was to attend for a meeting. The service during the flight to Frankfurt was such nice that even today I can still remember them. The flight was really smooth and thorough enjoyable, even for someone as me, who is otherwise scared of flying.

On January 5th, students in our school visited Robot World, which we saw a great diversity of robot. It was amazed to find those robots could do a great number of things just like real people, including playing chess, playing piano and drawing pictures. What’s more, the robots were in different kinds and shapes, which made us enjoyable. In addition, that excited me most was the show given by a group of robots. They danced just as if they are dancers on the stage. By visiting Robot World, I have learned a lot of about robots , especial about their functions and shapes. The great human wisdom is so powerful that it make us feel more comfortable live in the world.
