First, I’d like to thank you for your reminding, although I don’t agree with your view
which students should spend more time on their lessons instead of read novels．Indeed,
reading novels takes up some of the time that should spent on lessons, but it’ll make us know
what hard life is．Besides, by reading novels we can gain what we can’t learn from our
textbook．Of course, reading novels has it’s shortcomings．Novels that have wrong ideas will
make us to do something wrong．Maybe, in your eyes, the disadvantages of reading novels
outweighs the advantages．And in my opinion, reading novels is just as another pair of eyes,
which broadens my horizon．

Thank you very much for your last letter asked me something about how to choose a dictionary for learn Chinese. Here I strong recommend you the following two which may be useful to you. One of they is the English-Chinese/ Chinese-English Dictionary which will cost you 52 yuans. There are 18,000 English words and 20,000 Chinese words in them. So it has lots of   examples showing how to use the words, you will be very valuable for the beginners like us. The  other one is Xinhua dictionary, which charge you only ￥11 and has a collection of 10,000  Chinese words. It is the most commonly used one in China. I start school when I was five. The classes were small and the teachers were friendly. At the eleven I went to other school. Things didn’t go so well as before. I hated to study subject such as biology and physics and I got terribly marks in tests. My parents tried to teach me what I didn’t understand, and it didn’t help. I got very worrying about my exams.
