It is said that colds are not caused by bad weather．Colds are caused by viruses（病毒） in the body, and you are better out on a snowy day than you are in a warm room． If you feel a chill（打冷戰(zhàn)）, you are already sick． The chill is an early sign of the cold．

The cold virus can spread （傳播） though air when a cold-sufferer（感冒患者） coughs or sneeses（打噴嚏）． Surprisingly, this is not the most usual way of spreading． Many students have shown that most colds are “caught”  by hands． For example, a cold-sufferer touches his / here nose, spresding the virus to his / her hand． Then a friend comes to visit him / her． They shake hands． The friend then gets something to eat by hands, and several days later the friend might catch a cold．

Cold viruses can be spread by objects, such as telephones and plates． The cold-sufferer as well as other members of the house will stop the viruses from spreading by washing their hands often．
